Rope Oils & Wax
Natural fibre ropes require continuous care and maintenance. If you purchase your rope in its raw form then you will need to prepare and condition your rope by hand. The whole process is a very personal one, with some people preferring oil, some preferring wax and others preferring a combination of both. We currently stock rope oils, but we will be bringing you rope wax treatment in the future.
Tsubaki is our rope oil of choice for finishing rope. There is nothing wrong with Jojoba oil or mineral oil, or any other treatments that people use, we simply prefer the light feel of Tsubaki. We initially lubricate our conditioned ropes with a simple white mineral oil, since it is hypoallergenic and it leaves the ropes ready for the customer's own finishing product of choice.
We have created some very special 'Yin' and 'Yang' rope oils for you to use. The addition of some specially selected essential oils can bring a whole new element to your scene, providing that extra 'something' to the experience of being in rope. The aroma dissipates after a few days so you won't be left with a permanent smell on your ropes. It also means that you can interchange between the 'Yin' and 'Yang' oils at will. Tsubaki Oil
'Yin' Oil
Our Tsubaki Oil is an oil derived from the seeds of the Camellia Japonica plant. Its composition is similar to 'sebum', the natural oil produced by human skin, allowing it the ability to penetrate the deepest layers of the skin. This makes it an ideal choice of oil for conditioning ropes, enabling it to penetrate through to the many fibres of the rope, yet still being kind to the skin. Tsubaki oil is known for its anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It is available in three sizes 50ml, 100ml and 250ml.
Our 'Yin' oil is an astounding blend of Lemon and Ylang Ylang essential oils immersed in Tsubaki oil. You might want to use this oil when you want to intensify sensual rope play with one another. It can also be used when you or your partner are feeling frazzled and in need of some care and compassion. Lemon essential oil is believed to relieve tiredness, whilst Ylang Ylang with its intensely sweet & slightly spicy aroma has long been held to have a regulating effect on breathing and heart rate, lifts the mood and has been used for its aphrodisiac qualities for generations. It is available to purchase as individual 100ml bottles, or as a 50ml bottle as part of the 'Yin/Yang' set.
'Yang' Oil
Our 'Yang' oil is a warming, spicy blend of Sweet Orange and Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oils immersed in Tsubaki oil. You might want to use this oil to generate extra intensity during Semenawa or sadistic rope play. It could also be used to ramp up the energy of your rope play when you've been feeling lethargic.Sweet Orange Oil is a refreshing essential oil believed to balance the emotions, whilst Cinnamon Leaf is thought to be warming, uplifting and boost circulation. It is available to purchase in individual 100ml bottles, or as a 50ml bottle as part of the 'Yin/Yang' set.
Rope Wax
We realise that many of you like to use a blend of oils and wax in your conditioning process so we have added our SKorpion Rope wax to the online store. This is the same blend of Tsubaki Oil (Camellia Japonica) and natural beeswax that we use to condition our own ropes. It is available to purchase in a handy sized 60ml tin.
